You ideal lvl44+ PvE group?

Been spending a lot of time at Avalon lately.
I have been in lots of different group configurations.
Some sucked, some were really good.

What's your favourite configuration of classes?

Me, another Ice wiz, a mind/body sorc (matter sorcs can fack orf ), 3 paladins, a cleric and a theurgist.

That would be ideal...kinda rare though.

Urr...okay.

One paladin pulls and you generally get 3-4 mobs coming. The paladins hold all the aggro and taunt like crazy mofos while the 2 ice wizards PBAOE the crap out of the mobs. The body sorc uses his 30% ice debuff on the mobs and the fall even quicker. The theurgist has PBT running so that the damage to the tank is minimal and the cleric, obviously, patches up the tanks after the battle. The sorcerer buffs everyone with his PoT and then you repeat till you all ding 50 or fall asleep.

Mobs purple mobs generally drop in a few seconds in this type of group. The XP is fast and easy...if everyone does their job correctly.

I've not much experience in running a group, but I'm finding that I'm doing that more often, so advice like this is useful, even if it is obvious to you.

Well, if you are running a PBAOE group make sure the tanks know what they are doing. They should get all the aggro and use taunt styles only and move the mobs into a very tight bunch. Most tanks are pretty good in PBAOE groups now but there are some who have never done it before and they need to be shown the way. If they don't then the wizards tend to react in the same way as a sorcerer when you break his mezz.

Oh yea, you may need to explain to the ice wizzies that tanks CAN miss their taunt styles. A few still don't seem to realise that.

However, getting 8 people who aren't retarded is infinitely more important than class mix.

In avalon city specifically the mez-and-assist group would be safer than pbaoe.

a fg of pallies work pretty well at lower lvls

Focus damage shield leeches xp, and it doesn't really hold aggro as well as *3* chanting taunting paladins. But probably does hold aggro better than one paladin.

think that group would kill everything in about 5 sec time...

but don't think i ever been in such a group since i started beta waaaaaaay back...just a nice dream

With 2 buffbots and a healbot to heal if there's any trouble, all lvl 50, outside the group

Id like to see the top necro solo playtime to 50 and then compare it to a good power lvl group with PBAE i very much doubt the necro would be faster. 2.5 days /played with a group is alot faster then i can imagine any necro doing it.

Changed my mind about the perfect group:

1 Ice wizzie (moi)
1 Fire wizzie
1 Theurg
2 Paladins/Armsmen
1 Sorcerer
1 Friar
1 Cleric

In just the right camp spot in avalon city I went from 48.7 to 49.4 in just a few hours and we got 3 people dinging 50.

One of the best groups I have had in Avalon by far.
