You do not have the latest version ..... ???

I tried getting on to Gorre ... had no problem last time. Downloaded a 10.7MB patch to my Gorre copy of DAoC ... game started to load to 1.52 ... then it said I don't have the latest version.

Any ideas what went wrong??

hmmm thats odd. If trying again comes up with the same thing, I'd say start from scratch (copy original game dir, pathc, run).

Trying again did come up with the same thing. I'll try again from a fresh copy.

So ... Mr slapmesillySmartyPants .. if 1.52 isn't the latest version available on Gorre .. what is? As I said .. I had no problem getting the latest version on Gorre running last time we had a patch (wasn't that auto-trainer great?), but this time, after downloading the latest patch, the message on the starting screen (the grey/white artwork one) said I don't have the latest version.

are you running the correct DAoC copy, and conmnecting to the right server?

I know it's an obvious thing to ask, but I know I made that mistake a few times.

Yes, I was. I did a new copy of my game folder, and guess what? Gorre is down atm .. LMAO!! Hopefully it will work next time.

Could part of GOA's problem be their inability to distinguish between a quantity of 2, and a quantity of 3? Or even how to spell Fourth??

The following are from GOA's Gorre instructions page:

"Forth step: copy and paste the three lines below in your update.dat file, replacing the existing lines.

Mythic Patch
patch.camelot-europe.com:1280/updates/TestFR/camelot/mpatch.dat"


Is the secret a blank third line???

with gorre going up and down like a yo-yo at the time you tried it's also possible you just got an incorrect error message, rather than the "Gorre is down" one.

Remember, you will get that message if you patch the client in your "gorre" directory and then you try to connect to Excalibur or Prydwen by force of habit. You have to set the "no thank-you" option and manually select the Gorre server.
