ah well good thing i quit daoc just in time, soloing battler, hitting other players with it for 800 and having a spirit master like intercept on its controller was a little too good maybe...

ohhhh i get it, we have to wait ages for the real bugfixes, but when theres a bug that actually gives us a advantage its fixed right away

they can flag a mob uncharmable but they cant change grapple into a negative effect?

Was an ml raid recently where they had to get a gm to port one of those to his spawn point because someone left it in volcanus after being done with it, no?

Requiel had to reset the mobs for the ML8 raid the other day, lot of time wasted for a lot of players, ML/Quest mobs shouldn't be charmable, and it's a good thing GOA fixed it if indeed it wasn't Mythic.

Exactly this, and dotn anyone else belive they fixed it because they care about mls/quest mobs. They fixed it because we could have an advantage without braking CoC.

because minstrels take them to Volcanus and trap them in lava screwing up ML8 for everyone

The change still suck, those pets were the most fun ingame, especially Sarpedon. And as for the ML8 thing, can just check if there's a raid planned, and don't take any named ones if so. :(

uuuhm, i admire your trust in your felllow alb, but being a realistic pessimist like me, i really doubt a lot of ppl would give a flying rat fart about ML8 or not if it means they can farm uber scrolls or artis if they knick a quest mob xD

the problem is they remain trapped in the lava forever, you take one 2 months ago it will still remain there (i kill them when i see them in lava..)

But, one Minstrel having an ub3r pet is far more important that other people being able to do ML's and quests ?

I thought that all named mobs were supposed to be uncharmable, and that any not set to be are bugged ?

Well, I think that they might be playing Dark Age of Whinealot, it's basically another thing to whine about.

That's because mobs are stored in a database while the grapple 'spell' is hardcoded. GoA can change/correct the databases, but is not allowed to modify the code.

Mobs traped in lava, Mobs traped in watter, mobs traped 3 zones away.
I wish Mythic had made mobs die when they been in enviroment they souldnt be able to survive, like centaurs in lava.
I wish Mythic had made a better over all pathing system where the mobs would be able to return at their original pop stop, or at least mobs to be able to teleport their self to that stop if they were too far away to return by normal path. I still remeber the pet of some sorcs that had died in OF. Logery mans trying to find their way from mmg to the logery man camp near apk.
I wish Mythic had came up with better solutions after 3 years of daoc than sloopy ones, like "named mobs cant be charmed" just becasue they dont want to do something about the AI pathing which is the origin of this problem.

It's not just something with pathing or camp resets, if a minstrel has a named mob charmed even though it's needed for a quest or ML step, well, the mob ain't there while it's charmed anyway, and people who need it are screwed.

It's not like there's only named mobs around so I really don't see what's this thread is all about.

battler can still be solod easily, but with the Creon pets you could solo him while afk and come back 10 mins later to collect pwnzor lewt d00d xD

btw, you should have seen them with best buffs + necro absorb buff, completely indestructible xDD

imo

this game has lost its edge the fact that a minstral can charm a very good pet and solo most artis and same with dserv necros with fop bb cuts the whole point of the game out which is to group up with fellow realm mates and take out these big mobs understandably people like to solo but the artis have a varied range ones which are able to be solo'd and others that are not hope catacombs brings back the grouping element btw this aint realy a flame at anyone just a point of view :)


and Straef im with you charm elf chick :worthy:
