There's no puzzle, studies and a first look at it quite simply reveal it's a man in a costume because of the way it is walking.

Do they know who it was and did they find the costume?

I think these would be needed for definitive proof of a fraud.

I'm sure there are still some beasties out there we have yet to discover, but they will be tiny [ie. <dog] as opposed to large [ie. >human] imo.

Yeah well the LNM doesn't do much for me, that was an old tyre or a twig. I think actually dressing up in the costume shows much more committment to the project.

now that you mention it...isn't it so that nearly every place with a moor/heath has it's own personal 'monster' legend?
