this is a kind of follow up to a thread i done some months ago about the incompetance of the DWP..

last time, i was saying about how the dozy bastards wanted me to travel to a medical assesment, when its travelling that triggers my illness.. cue lots of to-ing and fro-ing to get a home visit from one of their doctors..

well eventually the doctor came round.. here's where it gets good..

by the time the doctor came, i had been in and out of hospital because i had a blood clot in my thigh. had taken the medication and everything and ALL WAS WELL WITH MY LEG BY THAT POINT!

the doctor then procedded to ask more questions about my leg than he did about my anxiety attacks.

guess what happened? my claim was turned down because i was getting better..... fucking fools..

so i get a letter on the 26th july, saying i wasnt entitled to any cash as of the 2nd of july... i had wondered why i wasnt getting any.. nice of them to let me know eh?

anyhoo.. phoned them up and said this is all wrong... oh ok then we'll send out forms for an appeal.

i asked them how long the appeal will take.... oh anything up to 6 MONTHS!

asked if there was anything i can claim in the meantime.. oh yeah.. ESA..

so i put a claim in for that.. and got a letter back saying we are happy to inform you you will recieve ESA from 2nd of july (backdated to when incapacity was stopped..)

2 weeks later... no cash in bank.. phoned them up again.. why arent i getting any money? oh have you sent in a medical certificate from your doctor?
erm no... no where on any correspondance did it say to do that..
oh right.. you must have got one of the batch of letters that was sent out in error, we dont send those letters out anymore, sorry about that..
so i need to send in a medical certificate from my doctor before i get any cash?
yeah.
would you have told me this if i hadnt phoned up?

anyway..3 weeks after that conversation, finally got certificate from my doctor today. oh and there was another form to fill in.. looked familiar..

looked very familiar.. in fact it looked just like the form i filled in back in april for my original claim.. you know the one that was followed up by a request to travel to a medical assesment...

it'll come and same shit will happen again..

now as before, this assesment is due to be at a place too far for me to travel without major problems. So i phone up the appointment desk and tell them..

oh you need a letter from your doctor to say you cant travel, THEN WE'LL ARRANGE A HOME VISIT.... (yet more fucking stalling)

so by time all this gets sorted.. will be 3 weeks or so? with not a fucking penny. and if the examination is anything like my last one with the dumbfuck asking about my leg...

got letter from the doctors to say i cant attend... its dated 22nd april and doc has just put a note on the bottom saying.. circumstances not changed, signed and dated.

this is... last time i sent that letter in, they said, your request for home visit has been denied, we'll send a taxi round because your doctor states you have a problem with public transport....

guess what happened!! your request has been denied!

at least they phoned me this time and i told them the letter from the doctor was wrong. they said well it was dated april anyway, we couldnt accept that even if it hadnt stated just public transport, if you can get a more specific one and dated around now from your doctor, that will be fine and we'll give you our fax number to speed things up.

fair enough.

along comes another letter requesting another sicknote to be sent in by october 8th. that letter arrived today.. 5th october. thanks for the warning guys.

so i call up my doctors and explain all this to the receptionist... passes all the info onto the doctor.

30 mins later the doctor calls. can the sicknote not wait until after your appointment on the 12th. NOPE, needed by the 8th.

then the shitty little shit said.. oh about this letter.. you've been requesting a few of these and im afraid we are gonna have to charge you 10 quid for it...

i laugh at him down the phone saying well i cant pay it until i get the medical, for which i need the letter. catch 22.

AND BESIDES THE ONLY REASON I BEEN AFTER LOTS OF LETTERS IS BECAUSE YOU ARE A LAZY FUCKER WHO ISNT DOING HIS JOB RIGHT

Have sent a rather impressive letter, if i do say myself, to David Miliband. Managed to get it all down into 3 pages, concise, and naming the tosspots involved.

I would post it here but have legal advice suggested otherwise in case hehe. But damn its good.

Should be interesting to see if Mr Miliband is gonna stick to his promise of serving his constituents since taking a back seat. To be honest, i think my case is a cracking place to start.

Yep, pretty sure your Doctor is correct here, same with sick notes for work. It's not their job to provide you with proof you are sick under the NHS.
