If going 41 Ice 35 earth spec

is the 41 spec nuke viable vs the lvl 50 baseline dd? as the cold lvl would be kinda high and the dmg variance wouldnt be that bad.

2.6 spd vs 3.0 spd cast speed aswell as lower delve on spec dd. tho with a snare on it.

ideas?

The 41 spec has a snare effect. Base has fuck all.

my theurg is 41ice 35earth and its all round good, if you go the whole way earth you pretty much fuck yourself for RvR purposes, and the whole way wind isnt much use in PvE, specially with ToA being huge atm...

but its not really worth going more than 41ice... with +'s you can easily fix your baseline nuking damage, 2nd ice pets are unnoticably less powerful than the first, and with +'s to ice you wont notice the difference anyway. With the 35 earth you get the 2nd highest pbt too, which is nice, and the reasonably effective 1minute earth pets for sticking on healers. imo the ice snare nuke isnt much good, but if you choose to be a ice theurg, you arent the fire wizzy. you want to snare nuke people sprinting out of range, and put the uber DoT that are ice pets that tick for 200 each on the rest.

if i wasnt avalonian i'd RvR a lot more, your main job in RvR is running away from the group to pbt range, then 3/4 ice pets on a caster or 1/2 earth pets on a healer will generally do the job. If you can stay out of sight for long enough to get 10/12 pets on different people, (gotta be careful of pbae and ae nuking because just one will take all your pets out), you can generally swing a fight and rack up some nice killspam :eek: you have to be careful tho, since if any of your pets are fighting, you cant MCL, which is incredibly annoying, because if you cast an earth pet with your last bit of power, you have to wait ONE MINUTE till you can MCL :\ - (or just burn RP or pots) but doing that every fight is annoying :\ and if you do use that to spam pets, you'll still have to wait at least 30 secs.

Lvl 50 Baseline
- Higher damage
- Faster cast-time (2.6 sec)
- Less resist rate
- More power cost

Lvl 41 Spec
- Snares, makes it harder for target to run away, and can allow your tanks to catch up faster
- Less power cost
- Gives Prevent Flight immunity (i fink)
- More resisted
- Slower cast time (3.0 sec)

That's the difference afaik.

I don't think one is better than the other. Depends on the situation.
