Yes I'm stupid and yes I need help with CS please.

When I try to join a net or even start a LAN game on CS.I get the error message Hunk_Alloc could not load.It happens after I have connected to the server and everything looks peachy.Any help on this would be great.
(I have the latest versions of everything)

ibm 333mx processor, 32mb ram,6.4gb UDMA,56k modem,
stand back its too impressive for words !.

eek. possible issues.

a) ram. it can run on 32, but needs quite alot of manual adjustment from what I gather from others that have tried

b) cyrix processor. hmmm, compatibility issues there

yeah... sounds like a memory problem... although the minimum requirement is 32 megs, cs does like to have min 64 in reality...

Isn't there something you can add to the shortcut, something that references 32000, that tells HL to use enough memory? I haven't had this issue before, but I thought I read that in another post around here somewhere...

Aha!

I fixed it by changing the command line for Counter-Strike from "D:\SIERRA\Half-Life\hl.exe -console -game cstrike" to "D:\SIERRA\Half-Life\hl.exe -game cstrike -heapsize 32000".

Yer HL might not be in D:, adjust to taste.

thanks all.I put heapsize 3200 in my command line and no more error there.Although now it comes up saying chache_TryAlloc,is greater than free hunk.Any ideas or shall we put it down to memory ?.

go buy some new ram, it is V cheap atm
