"We don't look for the perfect grp setup, we just rvr with what we got and rely more on skills."
And we still don't look for the perfect grp setup, never has - never will. We make PUGs where every guild member is welcome and those around lfg available. Many times we run with funny setups and it's still loads of fun, especially when we also manage to challenge set groups. When there are many available players to pick from, and I have a list of replacements, I select the class that will benefit the group most from the list - so it will be more fun to everone in the group. (Don't get me wrong: this does't mean I will kick someone from the group if the group already has a weird setup - that I would never even consider, it only means the setup will become a little less weird the next time a person leaves if possible.) :)
