As of today, I've re-opened my Midgard account.
This last year has been fun, I've encountered and met an awful lot of nice people (and the occasional just plain awful person) and had some damn good fun romping around.
These last few months have hardly been able to get online. No, not due to WoW, just various things like moving out of Scotland inbetween some rather amusing stories usually involving me being the butt of some unfortunate events but which made me laugh nonetheless.
There were a few things that led to this. Basically for Catacombs I want to try a new toon. I think the Heretic sucks ass big time. The playstyle will seriously not suit me. I like banshee and was going to delete my Mid/Ex toons and try this out on Hib/Ex. I fancied warlock until it emerged that its overpowered. Might make one anyway but I don't actually like overpowered toons. (When I got a bonedancer to 50 they finally fixed Dark SMs so I immediately switched back to Roo after having levelled Jink.)
Had been idly pondering what to do about this and made a decision the other night simply to close the Alb account and reopen the gimp. On the gimp account I've got a 50 druid on Hib/Ex so it will be easier to be bansheetastic. No, not a bot, but you know, cash and items etc.
Best memories for me in the last year include...
Joining Templars with Oro and almost at the moment was sworn in the Mids hit Excalibur. I'd known the raid was coming but of course said nothing. The irony of it happening at almost the exact moment I joined Templars was very amusing so at lvl26 or something I think it was I yomped off to my first relic defence as an Alb.
Treb overkill at Bledmeer, creaming a vast number of Mids.
Ambushes and lures at the Y-Road in Odin's Gate.
Organising a relic raid... only to have Hibs give us all the relics the night before it was supposed to go ahead. The night of the planned raid we went to Hib, but a lot of people had simply dropped out.
Organising a relic raid, having people constantly telling me you can't take 3 relics prime time... and going home with 3 relics. It did go on a bit late though, has to be said and as much down to luck as anything else. Fun though. Stormingly good teamplay from the likes of PE and FL. By late on in the raid we needed 2 BGs as folks started joining in when the main raid was already well underway. Hehe a lot of folks getting their first view of 'ruthless Roo' when I'm running pre-planned big stuff though I think folks had been given a glimpse on some sieges. Apologies to all those I'm a complete bastard to when running things.
My only dragon raid as an Alb, and led by Bubble. I love killing dragons. Don't care overly about the loot, just the experience. I'd wanted to go on more dragon hunts, but I think only once more had the chance and that raid failed (was a non-Bubble raid). I'd love to go on a Hib dragon raid at some point, only one of the 3 epic zone dragons I've not been there to kill now.
Lubbock's various 'Operation Silly-Names'. These were a hoot and on a few occasions escalated into assaults on relic keeps with some fun big battles, sometimes going 3-ways between the realms. Lots of respect to this guy and exactly the right attitude: go out, have fun.
Gaining ML10 with Elim. I took my time getting there and enjoyed the ML hunts I'd been on. Will miss the big bucket of utility on my wierd spec cabby.
I might pop on before the Alb account expires just to say goodbye to folks but my gaming time is so low at the moment due to work and moving home I can't even commit to anything.
Big thanks to the various guilds I've been part of in my time here - Order of the Knights Templar, Shadow Brothers and Uranicus Phalanx. I still think Danhyr is probably the funniest guy on the server. I've met so many nice peeps in these guilds and elsewhere. I've not posted on the meet thread yet as a work project that starts Feb 14th may mean I'm not in the area for it. If I can, I'll be there to abuse various peeps again
