Xscreensaver

The machines in the uni lab are running Linux, and they had the xscreensaver, well screensaver things. But those screensavers are fucking ace (Sonar, "all work ...", matrix, atom, worm) they are ace - there has to be some made for windows, does anyone have some really decent screensavers for windows that look really fancy?

Just install a *nix...then you can have any of those screensavers.

The most fancy screensavers are generally released by ati/nvidia to show off their cards. Depending on what graphics card you've got - go to their site and search for screensavers.

Ati's bacteria screensaver, for example, is rather spiffy.

or you could forget that and install a unix

for the ati stuff you need catalyst drivers and my pc has a little fit over that

I have a Geforce 6800gt (flashed to a ultra) - dont think i can use catalyst drivers with that. or can i?

I saw a Unix screen saver that was the various OS's Blue Screen of Deaths. The OS's ranged from Amiga, Atari, Win NT, linux, sun, etc....

Its cracking.

Don't install the ATi drivers. That'd be so wrong. Look on the nVidia website to see if they have any screensavers. Or install *nix.

What will said, Brynn. You've got an nvidia card so you want nvidia drivers - the cats are for ATI cards, so you're trying to stuff a square peg in to a round hole with that one.

Nvidia are bound to have a bunch of purdy screensavers to show off your card, check their site.

I know will - which is why im playing on the nvida site

got me a dancing man made of a reflective substance and lots of lights - tis well funky

Sorry to drag this off topic, but why did you need to 'flash' the GT to ultra Brynn? The GT just.... clocks to the Ultra speeds.

I find that a bit odd, I just ramped up the speeds on mine.

Got my card clocked to 417/1160 - its a gainward one.
The one i got is guarenteed to go to ultra speeds.

I have my monitor turn off after 20 minutes, much better than some silly lightshow that's on when you're not there

The thing is, I'd forget that I've got some ubersaver on when I leave the pc on to do cpu-intensive things, like video encoding.
