I have! :D I posted about this in General a while back.

Took me about 40 mins to get used to it. I think my eyes took a while to convince my brain that it wasn't all blurred, but now all text really does look a lot better. Another thing XP has introduced which I now can't do without. :)

Here's an example for you non-XP types which doesn't quite do it justice due to jpg fiddling.

/edit fs no IMG tags in Hardware

Takes a bit of getting used to on a CRT screen, but is the absolute dog's dangly bits on a laptop.

So you guys are now down to changing the type. Surely there's more to XP than clear fonts???

Out of the frying pan into the fire methinks.

I use XP on my laptop and it's very good. I don't use it on my desktop as Win2K is better.

Then again this is for flatscreens not CRT's ;)

.. but looks sweet on CRTs too, a friendly bonus from MS. Have they turned over a new leaf? Or are they just brainwashing us with "XP is great" vibes so we become their worldwide minions...

LOL

Well I would but 95 has no USB support! ME does suck but what MS OS does'nt? 98 SE was the only one that came close, well at least with compatability!!! XP is quite simply PANTS for supporting older software... Apart from that and hardware support I think XP is great  a move in the right direction... But its no good to me unless it supports older games, form like 2 years ago!!! :upyours:

If an operating system is to remain stable then it's important that software sticks to tight guidelines and thus many old apps don't work.

ok right!!! Since when has a Microsoft OS been Stable???! XP is better... But compared to Unix :upyours: is just a pile of POO :puke:

REMAIN STABLE? HOW about being stable in the first place!!!

I can see no reason why microsoft could'nt have included the nessesary components to allow older software to work with XP, i'm not talking about dos games here, just some from like a year ago. Oh yeah and Adaptec Easy CD creator...

Kinda depends what u want it for:

98 is shite cos its bugged to pieces!!!

98SE RULES for gaming as its supports nearly all gaming hardware, like Mice Joysticks. And its got a good DOS mode for DOS games, and it supports older games designed to run on it. And all new gaming titles. Also it requires little PC power and generaly gives the best Frame rate!

Me is Ok for most things, older stuff doesnt always run, however it is getting much better for hardware. Just got my new s-card Audigy and it supports ME
 Of course like my I feel mouse there is no support for XP! :puke:

2000 Professional is'nt designed for gaming, but is getting better as developers make games compatable with it. However a noticeable loss in frame rate it obvious!!! Ok with a higher spec PC  wont run older stuff, or even some new stuff!!!

XP is new and doesnt have much hardware support. Its basically 2000 with a new face
Wont run old games designed ONLY for win98, has no DOS Will run new titles that are to be released, but so will 98!
V stable, looks 'NICE' if thats your bag!!! :puke:

In a word XP is good but is C**P cos very little Hardware/Software is compatable!!! :upyours:

ME is the worse of the lot, most people agree.

W2K is fine with all my games and I didn't get a noticeable loss of FPS, in fact Opengl games got faster.

XP runs 95% of all software designed for other versions of Windows, some do require minor patchs, and if you want an OS to remain stable then the drivers need to be better.....which is why some companies haven't produced them yet.

Yeah, well, give the hardware companies a break, I mean, they only knew about XPs existence when it was released on the shelves in October. It's not like they had two betas, multiple release candidates and guidence on how to write things for the "XP logo" compatibility on the MS website to help them out in advance.
No, I mean, it was totally unreasonable of Microsoft not to tell them that there might be a new OS at somepoint in the not to distant future when windows 95 came out.
