When you buy the XP Pro upgrade can you upgrade from XP Home?

I bought a laptop that has XP home and I need XP Pro?

Yup, you can upgrade XP Home to XP Professional

Be Warned!!!

There is/was a problem when I upgraded my Dell XP Home to XP Pro that it wiped out my account in Windows so I lost my email accounts and Start Menu

There was a patch on the MS KB to run before an Upgrade

ha, well you got off lightly then PR, when i upgraded it totally screwed my Dell up!!!

i had to reformat everything!!!!

but now it ok though, i just reformated a week ago, much faster now!

In the end I found that the company I was buying my laptop from did Office OEM and Windows XP OEM... SO it was cheaper to get Windows XP Pro full! and office XP for less than half-price!!
