I recently installed the new windows xp service pack 2, and have been experiencing very annoying ld's ever since making daoc unplayable. I have enabled daoc on my firewall, but still the ld's happen, mostly happen as soon as i join a group.

I have read that this pack screws up several games. Anybody know how i can get DAoC running like normal?

ToA runs fine on XP SP2 on my laptop, disabled the XP built in firewall (pretty useless to me as it doesnt block outgoing connections, only prevents stops programs than listening on ports (and doesnt even do that too well)) - I use Zone Alarm Pro instead.

Only thing I can think of is a possible conflict with SP2 and your network or modem drivers, check manufacturer web sites for details, and try running ping plotter to see if its your connection that drops or just a link in the chain from your PC to GOA.

well u should be able to remove it from add/remove programs in control panel.
but rather than doing that try and go to www.usbman.com
and downlaod the USB2.0 drivers ( this is if u use a USB modem/router)

I've found that SP2 has caused alot of probs with any communication device
that uses USB... dont' know why but it seems to.

Hope this helps
