XP 'Remember Folder View'

Myself and thousands of others had a problem whereby Windows XP would 'forget' the view settings for certain folders. For example, I'd set one of my mp3 folders to display the contents as tiled icons, sorted by track number. I'd open the window later only for it to revert back to the default view.

I found a solution. Using Regedit, delete the following two registry keys (after exporting them to a file, if you want to be safe):

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags]

Sorted. Now every folder permanently stays exactly the way I set it.

Just thought someone else might find this useful.

Ah, but my problem is that my network mapped X: drive has a Images Style template applied to it and the option to remove it doesn't exist for the root of a drive :(

Fix that!

Is there any way you can default all the folders to view in the way desired, rather than those huge gh3y pictures??

I love you (even more than before!!!1) Summo. :)

That was a constant annoyance in XP and now it's working perfectly. :D
