XP Redetecting Printer.

OK, my printer is nicely set up on the PC and has been for ages. I noticed that it had been added twice though, so deleted a duplicate.

Now every time I restart it asks me for the disk to complete installation. Is there an easy way to kil this off? I don't want to install it cause then I'll have two entries for the printer again...

Un-install em both and have it auto-install it afterwards?

Yes, I had this problem as well, its was essentially because I didn't follow the instructions of 1) Install Drivers 2) Connect printer when you do it the other way round Windows detects it asks you for drivers but you need to run an install file so you cancel it run the intall file which adds the printer then when you reboot Windows sees there was a pending driver install picks up the newly installed driver and adds it again

The simplist solution is to do what Sar said remove them both and let Windows redetect it
