XP installation problems

I noted in an earlier post that somebody had the same problem with windows 2000. I get the error message:

This version of Quake 2 will not install on this Language of version of Windows 95/NT, to find out if a version localised for
system is availiable for purchase, please contact your local activision office.

I have checked all the regions are correct (uk language etc)

I have also tried loading all the files onto the hard drive and running install from their, Still no joy.

Any assistance much appreciated.

working!!

scratch that previous post, it is now working by using wimdows 98 emulation mode. However it is very dark. Any ideas.

Bump up some of the following settings and then do a vid_restart:

gl_modulate
intensity
vid_gamma


- Stoaty^[GIN]

or simply create a display profile in the nvidia panel or powerstrip that increases the gamma.

I found that with most games that are dark on XP using a GF DDR and now a GF3 ti200 and altering the gamma or video settings within the game/console commands doesn't work
