error in the XP event log that looks a bit like this:
AMLI: ACPI BIOS is attempting to read from an illegal IO port address (0xcfc), which lies in the 0xcf8 - 0xcff protected address range. This could lead to system instability. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance.

Clock Losing Time In XP

Go to the Date/Time Properties dialog (double-click the clock on the task bar) set the correct time, correct timezone and disabled the option to synchronise time with a clock on the web (SNTP).

XP, DVD and Net Meeting

unable to to play DVD's due to Display overlay errors, on checking DX diags it reported that it could not do the tests while Net Meeting was running. Shutting down Netmeeting allowed all to work normally....so you cant run Net Meeting and DVD together.
