Xbox live versus modded xbox

Hi... I recently bought an xbox and all the people around me wen't "WEEEEE now you can get linux and chip-mods and and and" but I really dont think I'll do that unless it is "the normal thing to do" when playing on xbox-live...... So I guess my question is .... Will NOT having my xbox modded leave me "gimped*" when playing against others, or do most people play fair and square ?¿?

I hope posting about mod-chips and such doesnt offend anyone but if it does I'm sry, and flame away

And now for the helpful response.

You can't really play xbox live with a modded xbox. It detects it and bans you. You *can* have your xbox modded and get on however, if you disable the chip (lots have a switch). AFAIK there is none of that lamer cheating business, and I doubt there will be. Having said that, it's probably not impossible.

In short.. get your xbox modded, because there's lots of good things you can do with it when its done, but make sure you can switch it off if you want to play on live.

Xecutor II lite seems to be king of the hill with regards to modchips atm.

After having checked those chips out, I think the MatriX chip sounds the best coz it doesn't need any soldering, and can be switched on / off by just ejecting a disk... I'll hold off a while until the full extent of the impact on xbox live is known though...

Yeah, but no soldering is apparently a bad thing.. it doesn't stay on properly. Also, you can mount an on/off switch for the xecuter, and soldering is apparently very easy for it.

I think it's generally accepted that xecuter 2 is the best tbh..

Never forget to switch it off though before jumping on Live, or you'll find yourself banned permanently whether you have the modchip on or not.

My xbox has an X-ecuter II Lite and it gets me pretty damn hard!
