I have got myself an Xbox 360 Elite on the cheap, its pretty good so far, streams as good as a PS3 and it involved less fucking around to do so.
I have a folder on my NAS full of HD videos that play fine on the PS3 but the Xbox 360 just see's the folder as empty. I assume the files need to be converted (gah fs!) to a format that the Elite recognises. To save me having to type anything into Google what format should the HD files be in for the 360 to see them?
They started as MKV files which I then converted into whatever file it is that the PS3 likes.
Help appreciated unless its off Meg, if so fo Meg
