Xbox 360 Controller not working on Vista 64

okay how the hell do u get this work.........

i have a wireless pad with a play and charge kit, and everytime i plug it into a USB slot it installs the drivers automaticly. I then turn the controller on, and all 4 lights just flash green

then nothing?

any suggestions

i have downloaded the drivers of the microsoft site and that does sweet FA

Do you have the wireless receiver? The usb cable just allows the battery to recharge. Thats what I think anyway cos I have the same issue.

surely u dont need the dongle tho, i got told when i bought the plug and play adapter that it should do exactly what it says on the tin?

obviously not i guess

I've got the X360 pad and play and charge kit, I tried the same and it didn't work. When I did some research, it turns out it's as Kev says. The USB cable plugged in to the x360 wireless pad just charges it, no data goes through it. To get a wireless pad working with a PC you'll need the receiver.
