x-box = really good

ok after playing halo, project gotham, DOA3 and rallisport challenge i've come to the conclusion that the x-box is much better than people expected. when i got home i played on my ps2 and gran turismo 3 felt ancient.

Infact i wouldnt be surprised if x-box can beat the ps2 hands down.. in the UK anyway.

In our local retailers the things are sellin real fast and the x-box games shelf was nearly empty (except for the odd project gotham)

The control pad isnt that bad and it wont be long till a different company will release a ps2 like control pad.

Graphics are in one word "awesome" no pop up, jaggies etc.. on Amped i thought it looked a lot like real life.

havin the hard drive is a big advantage, downloadable mp3s and quick loading games + internet play which actually works really well!

For the average person there is a DVD player and some surround stuff which makes it sound good.

anyway thats my opinion and anyone who says they hate microsoft should change there mind now because this beast is certainly the best thing for a long time

Its good but besides what you think it's not selling in the volume expected and supply isn't that good at the moment plus a lot of people know that the GC is coming and it will cost a lot less.

yeah those games are good but only ahlo is brilliant.
i doubt it`ll top the ps2 and the the GC has an ace up its sleeve in Monkey Ball

I doubt the XBox will be a total failure. When I was in the White Rose Centre today all the casual gamer types seemed really excited by it. But I still think the PS2 will win in the end. Even the PS2's awful lauch titles haven't dampened it's appeal and there are some great games for it now.

Shame they're not then, isn't it? At least not any time that it'd have any impact (ie, the forseeable future)

Maybe, however I'm now able to "not care" about console launches enough to buy the consoles when they first come out. If I do buy a GameCube, etc I'lll most likley do it a year down the line when the price cuts begin & hopefully by then Panasonic will change there mind :)

well.. me being me.. and having quite small hands dont really like the Xbox... the controllers are too awkward to handle.

bring back the megadrive! :)

Should cost, but its £165 everywhere, plus the panasonic one is the equivalent cost of an X-Box, so its not £150 so :p to you

I was looking at an X-Box today in dixons and they are a lot better than i expected plus there are a couple of good games. Maybe if the price comes down at the GC launch, i will consider buying one.

Well i got an xbox, and i think if it wasnt so exspencive then it would have sold alot better. BUt do remember it does have a HDD and ethernet shit all built in.
In a way buying a ps2 on lanch and then buying the HDD when its out and internet stuff it a be the same price.

Anyways if u can afored it im sure no one will be disapointed buying an xbox, i sure wasnt. I have 4 great games that me and my m8s play on hours on end. :)

My point was, btw, that if they're not going to release the PS Q at a time when it may influence the buying spree of Nintendo goods (ie, launch, close to it as limited edition etc) then they're certainly not going to release it a year or two down the line when its going to have little effect.

The only company I can think of that could pull such a stunt off is Sony, as they already did it with their portable PSX, because they'd saturated the market already.

Only one game stands out to me there, and its a sequel. JSR:F. DoA was always a series of fighters that was pretty mediocre, with added Breasts. Project Boring Racing looks just like every other racer out there, and is just MSR with better graphics, as I recall. Halo is to me, just hype.

i'd hardly call Halo just hype, its a seriouly good game. And i do knkow my fps as i started off with doom.
Pluss im sure if it wasn't a xbox game and just came out on the PC right off everyone would be saying how good it is , and its about time they done something new to the fps.

yes halo is a top game, but it bring little new to the fps genre, the vehicle implemetation in halo is top notch,
co-op mode best since system shock 2
story line is a pile of pig shit
enermy AI is good not brilliant
friendly AI is so-so.
graphics are ace

i agree dude, but one thing maybe you dont like the story but i think its really really good story if you like sci fi anyways, and it leads the end open for many sequals

Pluss theres a book of the story as well, not sure if its sold in the uk thouh.

i luv sci fi but its stil a shit story and having a book out about it aint gona make it better. wing commander nd planescape torment had books so it aint the first time it happened

Got me XBox now. Got Halo, PGR, and DOA3. Only really played Halo so far. Went most of the way through it with a m8 coop. Great game. I'm even starting to get quite good at shooting things using the h000ge pad :)

Not really played em much so far. DOA3 has great gfx tho. And big breasts :)
