Yeah that is damn good news just been reading about that. Im sure sales a pick up when they c that they can get an xbox for just a bit more than a GC , pluss i already got my box on the day so 2 new games and a pad damn thats some good news,

hmmm what FREE games would i like hehe :D

damn i thought i was gonna get to be the one to post this... oh well, i shouldn't have gone to KFC should i :p

but hey...

a month after release.... that's a shocking statement there isn't it.... now what will happen when gamecube is released is the question? it's looking more and more like the gamecube is going to be massive, and the xbox very hit and miss.... that said, i still want both... but then, i'm a platform junkie :p

wonder if Sony will drop the £150 PS2 clanger on microsoft now :p

that would wreak havoc :p

It's a huge gamble by M$. All good news for UK gamers but it didn't manage to shift enough units at £185 in Japan which is the biggest factor as far as the future of XB is concerned.

If the Japanese softcos don't see much of a domestic market to sell to on XBox then they will greatly reduce the output of games to it. This will mean XBox owners will have to be content with Fifa 200X, NHL 200X and conversions of western FPSs.

It's a very similar situation with PC software in general at the moment. PC gaming is non-existent in Japan - how many games on PC come from Japan then?

Japan is...

a very different market to us really though isn't it... there aren't that many pc's out there at all compared to over here..

what do you reckon is the cause of its non-popularity in japan though? it's fairly powerful hardware after all, you could as easily code for it as say ps2 or gc....

Sod Microsofts "gambles". As far as I'm concerned now, Microsoft has proven that its "not to be trusted" reputation has indeed crossed over into the X-Box brand. And while its a shame, they've put the holes in there own boat and now I hope it sinks.

Im sorry but i bet you guys my left arm that Nintendo doesnt sell really well. Im alost sure that poor sales are due too theres never been this many consoles on the market, and lets face it most owners of consoles dont know sod all about all this stuff we are talking about. I berlive GC wont sell really well because its not Xmas. People tend to think it a sell well cause everyones been waitng for this but when i ask most people who are not so much in the no they dont know about the Gc as much as they do about the Xbox. And now with the xbox price cutt its going to make people think at least.

I dont berlive we can look to japan because there market is way differnt to ours, they dont play games online they dont play as many computer games as we do, and they stick to there own, they always have.
Im sure none will flop, there all good in there own right, but ps2 will win the day im sure, just because its got backing of Japan and has been out for soo long.

Thats what i think, flame me if you will :)
At the end of the day i dont care about what consoles better i just wanna play a good game no matter what format its on, halo, monky ball, doa3, ICO, ff11 whatever all good :)

Amiga Cd32
3DO console
Sega Saturn
Neo Geo console (cd based one)
Playstation
SNES

N64 ( or Project Reality as it used to be called) wasnt out then

commodore cdtv diead quickly
cdi hang around fer a while till it realised it woz no match fer a few floppys/cratridges and buggered off before it woz beaten black an blue:)

Gamecube and PS2 will 0wn Japan....

Xbox will win over GC in america.... but PS2 will prolly beat both

and in UK itll be pretty even ;)

to be honest, i think the gamecube, while having games many think of as childish, is possibly one of the most adult orientated consoles out there at the moment... bcos all the old skool gamers want in on it... xbox... well that's gonna have a larger market share than it would have now... but only if it comes out with some cracking games very soon... cos there's only one real killer app atm.

and the ps2 is going to be as strong as it ever was, and remain untouched by petty console wars :p

GC will prolly be more of hit wit those over 20 mainly coz when these peeps were kids we woz hammering games from nintendo an sega

there's only one game a nexgen console needs to succeed:

Gunstar Heroes 2. preferably with about 500+ hours of gameplay

bingo m8 the orignal fucking owns, but yer got wonder if they have at all thought a bout making a sequel how would they maki it i mean FPS,3rd Person or do it old skool side scrolling

u got bangai-o for the dreamcast? treasure shooter (makers of gunstar).

and the last game treasure made was this thing for the ps2 called "freakout". to be honest i've never seen it running... but from the box it looks er... obtuse :p
