The Hibernian "protest" isn't going to get anything accomplished as it currently stands. The points of the protest are all over the place, and a lot of those points are "want graphical updates." And I already explained on the Vault that this is not going to happen for a number of reasons.

By the way we measure RVR activity (keeps, raids, relics, all of that) the three realms across all servers are equal. We cannot make changes to a realm because on one server they are losing - the server where they are winning would become unstoppable. There is more combat activity in some Hibernian frontiers (meaning small groups of people running around looking for someone to kill). However, the Hibernian keeps do not change hands any more often than the other two realms, according to the data we pulled when this protest first came up. We've got the hard numbers.

As for "shiny things": Perception is a heck of a thing. Sometimes old, outdated ideas linger on past their expiration date. Have the protest organizers counted the number of quests, monster types, areas, and items found in each realm? We have. Since Mark posted the announcement some folks are quoting (from 12/01), we've added things to make all the realms equal. A LOT of things.

Perception is doubly a heck of a thing - how many people are really behind this protest? I'll tell you, I get a lot of feedback forms every day, and generally, if something is really an issue, I will see lots of feedback forms, emails, and threads. I've got a handful of forms, even fewer emails, and a few extremely active threads... with a couple dozen people posting in them. I'll tell you, I HAD FAR MORE FEEDBACK FROM UNHAPPY ALBION PLAYERS WHO FELT THEY WERE AT A DISADVANTAGE... AND THE DATA WE COLLECTED BACKED UP THE ALBION PLAYERS. I am definitely NOT getting "swamped" by emails, forms, or any such thing. Been quiet lately, actually.

I am absolutely NOT saying that the Hibernia screed doesn't have some good points. It has some good points. I hope the "protesters" sort out those good points and focus on them. Spending a lot of time screaming for entire zones to be redesigned, rebuilt, and then downloaded by customers who didn't ask for the changes? When I already said it wasn't going to happen and gave the reasons why? Come on, now. Keep it to class balance issues. I say that only in the spirit of wanting to help the unhappy people have their voice heard.

Hib has the lamest home realm and the worst RVR zones to defend, but there has indeed been some catching up since the game was released all those long months ago, and we got the best SI zones by a long shot. I wub hib.

aye.. Im not to assed about quests really.. I think there pretty balanced.

The dragon thing to me is a big issue.. I have watched the dragon been killed on other realms, theres no doubt the hib dragon is A LOT harder... to the point where most hibs cant be assed doing or organisng dragon raids. which has been a big loss the our realm.

The ambience thing to me is pretty valid...

I think the key empthsis on the protest was just a few basic things that should have been addressed a long time ago... its not a protest about RVR balancing as far as I can tell.

Good point about the keep climb points though.

its not been tested properly.

theres some major landscapes holes and some well bugged mobs that can be exploited for serious ill gotten gains. Made 5 plat in about 30 mins in SI about 2 weeks ago.. and it was gotten alone

I've been following this since I heard about it, and the general feeling I get is Mythic don't give a damn. And when Sanya ask's us to keep it to class balance issues, when certain issues have been outstanding for MONTHS, you know there's trouble.

Especially when Mythic add crafting sounds ahead of fixing class's. Getting to the point of frustration now.

Its killable. Well done you dont miss a trick. Its been killed about 10-15 times in the history of DAOC. Alb and Mid dragons been killed well in excess of a 100. (Across all servers)
Lately Mythic agreed there have been problems with the Hibernian dragon, and the developers finally agree'd it needed a major "overhaul"

Even i can make a fortune in SI land, by just farming dryghu and adyeth (or whatever they are called) and i am gimped, they drop almost epic qual (94-98) af98/102 scale/rf/leather armer and the odd weap for very little work. classes are ok i dont think all our problems are the game its groups running off and trying to rambo Emain, dont see the other realms doing that do you?

it's because mythic cba to fix it properly (like everything they do), so they make small changes here and there, just enough to shut up the majority of the players and keep them paying

OK,

We had 108 peeps show up for the scheduled test of the Hib dragon, hosted by Mythicbard. Not a bad effort.

Took the dragon on 6 times. We never got him below 70%. MythicBard admitted in chat that the AE is not working properly.

At the end, in a pm, MB told me that the devs "will definitely fix the problem", after admitting in chat the AE is bugged. We will see. He did generate a lot of data. I have a chat log of the entire session.

o yes... we can hope and hold on for patch 1.70
