you sure its not DIVX avi?

sounds like hooky DVDs man lol.
but its a codec for playing back certain media.
if your player supported DIVX it would be written on it somewhere :)

if its only DIVX AVI you could play them on your pc. assuming these episodes are going to be on CD and not a DVD.

if its CD you could pop them in teh pc and watch :)

aye it did say could watch on my pc but tbh im not going to watch 70 odd hours of high class sci fi whilst sat at the pc, lol i'd end up in need of a chiropracter and a small asian girl to walk up and down my back (high heels optional) when it's finished.

or get your knockers out for "charity" and instead spend the money on the real dvds.

What it could work!

You can grab a cheapo DIVX/DVD player these days for around £25-30, they are a great investment if you download loads of films/TV like I do.

housemate bought a dvd player that can play divx, so you can burn stuff from the net onto cd's or dvd's and watch it in the lounge without hooking your pc up to tv :)

If thats what you need they are about £30 on amazon.

DVD versions are going to set you back alot more Ez, you can get 11-15 episodes as divx on a single layer DVD but you won't get more than 3 episodes if they are normal DVD backups. You will end up with 6-7 discs per series that way, so at least 24 discs for the collection. That is alot of time involved making the copies and that is what you will end up paying for. The episodes in divx won't need more than 10 discs total, half the time should work out at half the cost so expect to pay double for standard DVD format.

aww blimmin eck why cant anything be simple anymore, you never had this problem with records imo it was "got a record player... way hay you can listen to records!!"

and the most you had to contend with was the occasional invasion of fluff, if there was a scratch you just lifted the needle over it and carried on.

i miss the old days :(

It's not complicated, just buy a cheap divx player and you are set. If you don't want to do that then just find a good supplier who can do the DVD versions ;)
