personally i've never seen Kleps nor Klope, since toa released, would love to get a hand on them one day for the trophee

I've also never seen Kleps or Klops despite searching their alleged loc on a regular basis.

I have killed Kleps & Klops once, they had already spawned when I got to the loc.

Not sure how, but the Cyclops Eye encounter has to get messed up for them to spawn and since I don't know how to mess it up haven't seen them since (something to do with not killing the cyclops' gathered at the bottom of the ramp before attacking Kertom?)

Anyhow, I got the remains. Dropped a lightning etched Plate Helm that time not chain i'm affraid.

we are well on our way the other day to making them spawn. But 2 certain people in our group got into their usual fight again and we failed :D

Kleps and klops route: Kleps and Klops are likable by pure PvEists because they are trophy mobs...however since the changes to the encounter they are nigh on impossible to spawn without intentionally wanting to obtain them. Originally when Kertom killed someone, every cyclops at the base zerged him. This was changed from complaints of minor groups getting totally destroyed by the encounter, to only 1 cyclops that does not respawn until the encounters reset. Apart from the fact that Kertom can solo this cyclops with ease, let alone the fact that theres no guarantee it will even be alive when you begin the encounter, makes them very hard to obtain, however heres how its done.

You want a large strong group. I would say minimum 4 ppl, preferably the full deal. Having a pbae caster is a huge plus. Firstly, make sure people realize what you are trying to do. You must NOT kill any cyclops at the base of the encounter. This involves extra special attention, as half are neutral, while half are aggressive. Getting aggro from an aggressive cyclops will most likely mean pulling all the neutral ones too, which could essentially mean game over for your Kleps/Klops ambitions that round. Sneak everyone up the ramp avoiding aggro, if the statues come to life your in business, if they dont, then youve got no alternative but to kill Kertom and come back another time.

Ok so your up the ramp, you have 2 red con archer statues in front of you and 5 or so red con statues running at you from your right. It is imperitive you kill these ASAP, you have 4-5minutes from the first ones death before they ALL respawn (and reattack unless you botched it up and got the cyclops killed), so you need to move fast. When the statues are down, engage Kertom. Your goal is to reduce Kertom to approximately 5-15% health. Be careful especially with magic as his low level means many spells can hit for full 600 damage, which can knock 20-40% health of per blast. Also because hes a stationary melee mob, casters need to be standing almost right on top of him to be able to land any spells whatsoever. Use spells sparingly, once hes down to around 40% have tanks wittle his HP down to the necessary 5-15%.

Ok, now heres the technical part. Pull EVERYONE off, then send in a sacrificial lamb. Either have a tank strip and sit down (not your main tank preferably, bring a lowbie alt, use a bot or a mage, doesnt matter, you need someone to run up to Kertom and suicide on him tho. Upon their death this will cause the reactionary cyclops at the base to charge up and attack Kertom. Its very important that people dont die before necessary, its also important to make people aware that a giant red con is about to charge up behind them, and that hes attacking Kertom, NOT your group. If someone aggros the cyclops from attacking it, or using an ae spells your Kleps/Klops chance is over this time.

Move your main tank back in and throw off a few taunts, to grab Kertoms attention. Now have them leave melee mode and just let Kertom beat on them while someone heals. This should allow the cyclops to bash Kertom without retaliation as he will be focused on your tank with more aggro. Rez people, be prepared to deal with statue repops if your slow, just DONT aggro the cyclops, and make sure Kertom doesnt kill him.

If the cyclops gets the killing blow on Kertom, you should see him take up the shield on his arm, and run off down and west. Again dont kill him, follow him and eventually he stops up in the hills and trees. At this point both Kleps and Klops spawn with him. Kill them both, upon the second ones death he drops the shield and credit as well as lovely eye on a pedestal trophy from each.

Kertom also has some nice drops, Bracer of Snow being the most prominent, as well as some Belts of Lightning. Kleps and Klops if I remember correctly drop hat pieces from the etched lightning set...they drop something from the etched lightning set at least, so both are good for farming normally outside the actual artifact, meaning the encounter is down normally quite a lot.

Encounter Respawn: Last time I checked, this was a standard 8hour repop. Its quite easy to check if its up, just look up from underneath the platform, if you see a large statue thats slightly moving that you can target as Kertom then the encounters alive. The odds of Kleps or Klops being up and no one killed them is next to none, as no one would be able to pop them these days without intentionally wanting too, but you can try and check their spawn as well if you like. Kertom wont repop until their both killed if they are active.
