imo how can u reserve the right _not_ to sell when u have stated a startprice thats a bare minimum for the sale?

Hate to tell you this, but even in real auctions you have a reserve. The auctioneer does not tell any of the bidders the reserve and unless the item sells for an ammount equal to or over the reserve it doesn't doesn't actually sell.
Although the auctioneer will sometimes let the item go for an ammount close to the reserve that is under it, and yes I watch Flog It and Bargin Hunt .
