I'm trying to get my m8 into q2. He has a copy of the q2 cd, but when he tries to install, it comes up with a wrong OS msg.

I think i had this problem when I tried to install Q2 on my new hd in Win2k, but i had a duel boot so i just swapped to win98. To my knowledge he's running Win98 already, so he's probably either got a US version of the Q2 cd or a US Win98. Is there a work around for this problem?

If there isn't then i might just burn him a copy of my q2 dir and get him to copy the files straight over.

Legal note, i sed Might!!! :D

Cheers

make sure, also, that he didn't pick up the Linux Version of Q2.

J/K - It shouldn't do anything even if it was the Linux version.

Seriously... It really shouldn't matter what country you're in. Q2 will install on Win95,98,NT, and 2000. I'll toss it around to a few buddies and get back to you.

There was a real old problem with imported US copies. It only installs on the correct country setting. Try UK, then USA.

you could also...

copy the files from the directory on the cd...

If memory serves, a m8 of mine had the same problem.

ID didn't use DEICE like they did with qw, so theres no archives, I *think* the game files are stored in a dir on the cd.

(I'm *so* not a q2 llama though ;) qw all the way :D)

I remember fighting to get Q2 on my PC years ago. You must set the keyboard language and the Regional settings to the same as the Q2 CD. IE English (British)

Thanks ppl, I might send him a copy of my q2 dir, atleast that way it will be patched up. Plus he'll get the Jailbreak mod too. =D
