writing an intro for your self

at uni next year i shall be starting the job of student mentor. ive been asked to write an intro about my self. the bit im struggling with is how to encourage people to approach me. anyone have any ideas, buzzwords etc? so far i have the following -

Welcome to the University of Teesside! My name is Tristram (or Tris for short) and I study Forensic Investigation and Consumer Law. My first year at university was fantastic. I learned a lot but more importantly I met many great people who

By the looks of it, you haven't met great people if you can't tell anything, "great" about them.

What was great about them? How did they help you? What did they do?

Also, you basicly haven't told anything about YOU. If you want people to approach YOU, you don't want to talk about others and about the "bookworm" side of you.

go personal, go into hobbies, go into what makes you... you.
