Given there's a privately owned company investing its own money into fusion research, I'm encouraged. I'm less happy the first use will be to power US bombers that can stay up for months :(

The whole of Skunkworks is financed by the Pentagon either directly or indirectly, research grants and direct contracts to build the next gen weapons etc.

The reason light water reactors were chosen over breeders in the first place was because they were better suited to nuclear subs.
