I had a 1.1 Fiesta of teh d0om.. once drove it for 2 weeks with no front brake pads cos I was skint so used the gears/handbrake to slow me down - was an interesting experience. Now the company I work for give me shiny new cars to abuse ...which is nice

Is there anyone who's car was't a ford fiesta 1.1? (other than the OP ofc )

Had a shitty green one for three years - it got broken into about 9 times during that time as well and if you took it above 65 mph the whole car would shake!

The one I learnt to drive in was better though - was a B-reg 1.1 vauxhall nova (not the boy racer type - a saloon) with 4 gears worthy that used to stall if you went below 20mph on a bend. Even better, it had a big hole in the floor by the driver's pedals - this was because both the door and the sunroof leaked, and it was the best way of draining the water - sucked for going through puddles though. And the clutch cable used to snap all the time in cold weather - went through 3 clutch cables in one winter

Hmmm we will just have to hunt you down and measure them ourselves - if you see a bunch of blokes stood around jacking ya car up and taking the wheels off whilst putting bricks under the axle's - don't worry its probably just me and a few lads from the office measuring each rim individually away from the car to get the best measurements to settle teh argument.

Just had a thought... I have had 3 fiesta's in total, one my first car, 2 for a yr each with the company I am with as well... and all 3 were a mess by the time I finished with them..then tried the focus which was a lot nippier and handled better as well, and had an XR3i in teh boy racer days gone by..

Hmm in fact I have had Ford, Ford, Vauxhall, Ford, Ford, Ford, Renault so far... sick of Ford Dashboards tbh
