WoW - get US or wait for EU?

Though there are ways around this (that I dont know of), localisation will prevent europeans from being able to connect to the US servers. That and the fact your ping will be fubared (I played with someone from Sweden who had a 500-1000 ping) will prolly make the majority of the europeans wait for euro release.

My ping (without flatmates downloading) was ~200-400 or so, which is really not noticable... and 100% playable. I don't think that'd be a problem - but the time difference is going to be the telling factor as to whether to wait or not... but it really doesn't make a difference i mean if loads of people from the EU join up to the US version then there will always be plenty of people to play with

But still less than the Americans. DAoC should have shown you, if anything, that's it's a very much 'in the long run thing' and you don't want to go and make an uber char on the US server if you have nobody to play with.

I am very much persuaded I was just considering and seeing what the rest of you were planning - I mean most of what makes the game fun is having the people to play it with

Edit: I'm not saying they are all like that, or the EU crowd is perfect but I'm hoping a bit more mature atmosphere.

Blizzard Europe is hosting. And wow is on a new infrastructure, they're not using battlenet itself to host.. There was something about this in some faq on their site ages ago..
