You need to be 18 and have done the subjob quest to get a subjob tho.

Heya, I'm currently playing:

Galka Warrior, Using a scythe, very fun in a group (alternative weapon is boomerang..) gonna be a DRK/WAR (Dark knight/sub warrior)

make a warrior or white mage, cant go wrong with those and its easy to find groups since groups need to have those classes

I am going for DRK (DARK KNIGHT)

Their class A weapon is Scythe (best weapon for that class..)
They get lots of BLM spells, and almost the best.. they get the numbers 2's,
i.e Fire II, Water II, etc..
they get DRK-Only spells too, like absorb damage, enchane STR,DEX,etc..just about all stats (has all tank stats..)
also get great styles as a Dark Knight, seen a DRK fighting once (a level 55 or so) and he was doing loads of dmg compared to equal levels surrounding him.. they get to wear the best armor, and being galka.. they just pwn

actually - Elvaan makes the "best" DRK if you're picky about numbers

Galkas get more HP, so they make the best meat shields, aka Paladins - but in the end, who cares? Play a race that you like, that's all that matters
