Worth getting a Wii?

my birthday coming up and there really aint much i want or need, so thinking of getting a wii as they look pretty 'fun' to play with ya mates, usually have mine over a lot.


sooooooo do any of you that have one reccommend it? dont know too much about the games available for it, my brother seems to think theres like 2 good games to play :s i already have a 360 and don't plan on ever gettin a ps3 (brothers getting one)

Your brother is right, very few games that are any good. However, even the freebie wii sports is great with a group of mates. It is very much a social console, not as much fun on your own. Mine only gets use when there are other people around now.

mine is whipped out when me sisters kids come round, wii sport and wii play immense fun with the family.

zelda is good going by wot me bro says, my self i only have Res evil 4, despite playing both the GC and Ps2 ver the controls make it worthy.

uk release dates are a frigging joke. if any of the over seasea titles grab your eye then get it the dvd drive chipped, or do the new "proper modchip" install with 32 wires. fuck ninty tbh region locking and shitty release dates = uber gh3yness .

my next title is the dutch uncut edition of manhunt 2.


also back on the modhip thing, now that unsinged code is bootable, we just might see some nifty apps similar to that psp,ds and xbox1 got

Although the Wii is a very good social gaming platform and the european release do lack a lot to be desired, there are some good titles out there and coming out soon.

Zelda is great fun and I'm currently playing Super Paper Mario which I am enjoying immensely. Metroid and Super Mario Galaxy are out in the next few weeks as well, plus the upcoming Star Wars game that will let you use the Wiimote as a light-sabre

Says the guy who thinks Steam is a pile of shit.

No one said the Wii had an abundance of deep thinking games, it has been advertised as a machine that you can have fun with when you got friends round.

So if you want a machine to play with when your mates are around get a Wii, we are suffering from a lack of good relase titles however. There is ample games for multiplayer fun though.

If you want to play a game with movie like graphics and the same old gameplay as the previous named title but with a new number added get an x-box or a ps3.

Once again you completely missed the point. I *had* the equipment to play it when it first came out, when I said that steam was a bit shabby - if I did not have the equipment, how would I have come to the conclusion it was shabby? I since have moved and do not have an internet connection, so can no longer play it now, as in the present.

Fair enough, I misunderstood. Steam has come a long way since then and I think it is fair to say that if/when you get an internet connection Steam is certainly worth another blast.
