Worrying Thought...

Ok, sadly some of the time i'm forced to give up my lovley computer and play DAoC on a... well a second rate piece of crap with a measly ISDN network connection (god, i love being able to call ISDN slow :D)

anyway, this is about screenshot jumped. i realised a while ago that when i lag slightly and am jumping it has the same effect (well its basically the same thing) so i just wanna know if i'm wondering along and i jump lag while jumping and go flying into the upper stratosphere (its a small chance but it happens) will i get my account banned?

i'm just an honest player, i don't use any 3rd party programs, i don't abuse bugs (knowingly), hell i don't even have a DNR list (well i do, but its haddock, haddock, haddock, haddock, for 5 pages and i res him anyway ;) )

i just want to know i won't wake up one day and find my account has been locked because i lagged while jumping arround

Can't speak for GOA, but I don't think lag (screenshot) jumping is in itself illegal. However, using it to gain some form of advantage (somewhere out of damage range, etc) most definately is.

Still, don't ask here. Send in a RightNow question and check with them, rather than get speculation here.

Also, screenshot jumping gets removed in the next patch.

I think it was mentioned in the other thread that yer 'normal' lag is just part and parcel of the game, and only when someone does it deliberately to gain an advantage is it deemed cheating.

The whole lag thing is quite interesting though, and those of us with 2 accounts know the weird things that can happen. For example (I play with my laptop next to my main PC), I see one of my chars running off into the distance on one PC, but all seems normal on the other; or I lag on one and from the other PC it looks like I just ran backwards and forwards very fast.

As a straight up player; I wouldn't worry about it.
