FUCK OFF AND DIE mr coca cola. quite frankly children should be treated as children, adults make their choices fot them and thats that. We know better and coca cola is evil.

They aren't Coke products so don't worry.

They are Pepsi franchises iirc.

at least you can control your level of sugar and fat intake with tea.

And tea is healthy, it's not quite redbull quantities of caffine.

ive yet to see a school that sells red bull though :p

my old school/sixth form removed the vending machines anyway in an attempt to stop bullying and remove cash from pupils (they even have "meal cards" and stuff now rather than paying in cash, and school pre-paid buses o_O )

Vending machines in schools is a really shit idea. Like we need more kids who don't know how to eat and drink properly.....

None of these articles about them banning junk food comment on the most obvious thing kids will do -- they'll just buy it elsewhere and bring it with them to school...

I used to leave school at lunch and goto the Tesco up the road, for younger kids they could just get it before school or whatever ...

Perhaps, does that mean schools should make it easier for them to get this crap?

On a related note all the vending machines of chocolate on the london underground have been closed for last week or so - it seemed like a license to print money so its odd they have closed them down - maybe theres a general move away from vending machines now they expect to get banned from schools?

Won't this just force the kids to drink Pepsi instead? Surely this is a good thing considering how much nicer Pepsi is.

No they're not.

Coke > Pepsi

And Redbull has a 'not suitable for children' warning on the side - we almost got in trouble a few times at work for selling a similar product (Shark) over the bar on kids nights. :)

Truth. If you can't taste the difference (oh jesus, that's one of their catchphrases, right? I'm sorry), you haven't drunk the same disgustingly unhealthy amounts of either that some of us have. :(

Honestly, yes - I can tell the difference. The fact is though, very few people give a fuck. Can't remember which comedian it was, Hicks maybe, who pointed out what a waste all of the marketing each company does.

"Can I have a coke please"
"Sorry, all we have is Pepsi"
"Whatever"

Coke's far too sweet and makes my gums itch for hours afterwards. Pepsi I can drink litres of every day and my teeth are fine. It's also nice to taste the cola part rather than the sugar. So yes, I can tell the difference, and will always take Pepsi instead of Coke. If I can't have Pepsi I'll have Irn Bru or Sprite or something, just anything but that evil Coke shite.

I can honestly say that it's been around 20 years since I've drunk any kind of shitty carbonated full o' sugar soft drink. Lager is acceptable though :)

First, kicking up a fuss about coke in a pub would be deeply uncool - it's uncool enough drinking soft drinks anyway, and you know how fucking stupid people are about fitting in. Second, if you're ordering coke in the first place then you're probably not entirely doing so for the taste, in any case - even when you do get coke it's inevitably diluted to shit. So that's not exactly a great example. Basically, if I went out to buy bottles of coke in a supermarket and they only had pepsi, I would come back empty handed.

And I can't believe I'm arguing this. Jesus.
