I'm currently reading the 2nd book in the second series of Harry Turtledove's alternative history, World War series. If you've not had a chance to read them then give them a go.

What I'd really like is ideas on any other authors that deal in alternative history. I find this stuff fascinating and would really like to read some more.

I'm a bit of a fan of Turtledoves World War series, they're really trashy B-Movie Sci-fi hokum but I love them! :D

The guy who wrote The Man in the High Castle did a lot of alternative history style stories, and for the life of me I can't remember his name.

some of Turtledove's books sound quite good.

Im a bit put off by the sci-fi aspect of the World War plot, but the Great War plot sounds quite good...

/me adds the Great War books to his basket

Are there any more good alternative history books based around WWI and WWII?

The Great War series is a bit pro US but okay to read I wouldnt recommend the last 2 of that serie caus if they dont add much to the story. It tells more about the alternative but no real shocking things.
The WW series is good :) I do like the 2nd trilogy Colonisation.

Phillip K. Dick was responsible for The Man in the High Castle. And yes he is quite good.... *looks on shelf to see said books*

Also see: Robert Harris. Enigma (sadly made into the film of the same name, but ignore that.), Archangel, and especially Fatherland. That really really rocks.

Wars, my speciality. Arf.

For alternative histories try the Warlord Of The Air series by Micheal Moorcock.
Pretty good in a left wingy kind of way . :)

Theres some chap who did a world war two alternate history where lizard aliens invade.

So they band together to fight them, but it doesnt work out all that well as the germans still hate the jews etc.
