Delta Force is the US equivalent of the SAS.
Navy SEALs is the US equivalent of the SBS.
The SBS are the mutts nutts, they are only recruited from the royal marines, subsequently because they are all starting with the same high level of training, the SBS training they received can be far more effective, because they dont have to allow for the possibilities that thier recruits havnt been trainined in one thing, but have in another etc.
Half the stuff you see the SAS getting credit for, is actually the SBS, also, strangely, when the SBS are shown on tele, their faces are not blacked/fudged out to protect their identities, which is odd, because they take part in the same operation types.
The Israelis have a comparable special forces outfit as well, but I cant spell it. It was actually formed orginally to track down and kill known pallestinian terrorists - specifically the ones that massacred the Israeli Olympic team a long time ago.
The SBS do sum seriosuly impressive shit tho, riding on the top of a submarine(submerged) in their suba gear, swimming massive destiantions to targets, then be expected to be able to get on board (this can mean climbing huge distances for oilrigs etc), whilst maintaining total stealth, and then carrying out the mission.
SAS/SBS are now under 1 command and do joint operations as well. The German GSG-9 were the first purpose built counter terrorist special forces, and are pretty decent as well. Thier greatest achivement was a hostage rescue aboard a plan that had been hijacked and flown out to somewhere in the middleeast, cant remember where. They stormed the plane, killed 3 terrorists, injured another, and rescued a large number of hostages (all of them in fact). They were of course helped by the SAS, who used flashbangs (an SAS only weapon at the time) to distract the terrorists inside the aircaft cockpit

No Mossad is deffinitely their inteliigence agency, their special forces unit is a 2 word name, with lots of "s"'s in it, translated it means something like "Gods Revenge", because it was created to avenge acts against Isreali citizens.
