World Cup Predictions

With the world cup just around the corner, I thought it would be good if we had a world cup prediction thing. Although there are good excel predictors around, collating peoples entries will be a pain, so I think the best option is to just post who you think will finish where in each group, and then the results of the knockout phase. Not sure how to score, perhaps a point for correct group placing, and a point for each correct knock out match, bonus points for guessing the tournament winners correctly.

Can't be bothered to do a huge long list, more general predictions are

1) Ukraine to be the surprise package, would expect them to make the quarters at least.

2) England will struggle to get out the group stages without Owen and Rooney if they aren't ready yet. The fact that the entire world already knows what the team will probably be and how to play against Sven's England won't help em too much either.

3) Whole thing to be won by Argentina or Italy.

Czechs made very strong show in first round, as did Spain. Brazil and France were dissapointing. Holland had a good first match but lack the quality to make it to the finals. England wasn't impressive either. Portugal was a boring match after the 1-0, C. Ronaldo trying to imitate Ronaldinho...

A few odd choices. I think Brazil will choke at some point. Hopefully against England Still think we'll fail though unless our crocked strikers get fit and walcott gets given a chance and amazes us a la Rooney.
