is there any decent way to quickly swap between multiple open documents in a single instance of word? you know, a la /alt-tab/ or something?

I'm editing several documents at once from a standard template and all the doc-swapping is driving me batshit :/

Why not "tile" the documents?

Can do this under the Window menu and click "arrange all"

because they're huge and doing the tile thing will make me even more insane than I already am :/

I was hoping for something along the lines of 'alt-1, alt-2' or summat, but it is not to be :////

edit: ctrl-tab no workies either :(

You could open them all by opening Word 5 times and then Alt-Tab them that way...

They're listed under "window" so all you do is Alt-W and press whichever nuber window you want.

this seems the best way tbh. then I can just single-tap through the instances.

TDC - CTRL F6

It's the most hideously akward 'shortcut' ever

well thanks Perplex, I knew there had to be one :)

and it is hideously akward. it takes two hands! what use as a shortcut? and I've managed to trash the master document ffs. I'm going home

I can just make it if I use my pinkie and index finger. aligning my hand so I can make it happen gives me the feeling that a) I've contracted a very obscure malady, possibly of tropical origin and b) I'm going to get RSI if I do the ctrl-f6 "shortcut" more than once per annum.

in other words it can go suck the male organ of copulation of a large farmyard animal of the Equus Caballus genus

lester, you seem like a fine, upstanding bloke...how about a game of UT (the regular, not the poncy 'new' one) tonight?

:)

Is this the half dutch net equivalent of asking me outside for a fight? :)

T

well....no :) I fight fair you see ;)

Asking you to play ut against me is more like tranquilizing you from a distance, stamping your scrot to a bloody pulp, then filming you as you come to again :)

I can do CTRL + F6 with one hand!

Litte finger on ctrl, thumb on F6

hehe :) that you can is beside the point. a human can do lots of unlikely things, anatomically speaking...but they aren't necessarily easy or comfortable to do. a shortcut, to me, is an almost intuitive quick tap of the keys.
you're forgiven cos it's your BD though :)

thumb on left or right ctrl, index finger on f6, easy :)

But it's not intuitive, it's not quick or rapid, it's not a shortcut - especially when frantically typing away
