Yeah i know, i know, but to state that PC gaming is dying is ridicilous.

Only point really made.

Nerds is a large chunk still, i was using it as a core of market example, there's plenty of layers on top, all the way to even casual markets on the PC.

What i think will happen though, is a motion towards ports(such as DC universe online). At the moment it has issues with UI especially not porting well, but as time goes, should get better. It's basically peanuts to port and good market there too.

It´s certainly not dead, but you have to admit that the majority of serious titles these days - except aforementioned MMOs - are console conversions. In my opinion, PC stands for junk food these days, while the true "stuff" is happening on consoles.
And I say that as someone who considers himself a PC gamer. I`ll probably never have and / or play a console.

Hmm, that might be an opinion thing(of some form or other), cause i've always thought of consoles as part time fun, while PC as the main HC game platform.

Everything on the PC is more long-time gaming, Civs(and so on), FPS, RTS, MMO. You know.

Then again, it kinda depends on ones definition of what they feel is hardcore and what is burger gaming.

I can't, from the top of my hed, name one console title that could be described as anything outside the casual(wiiide spectrum of that) games.

Little Big Planet, Fable, Assassin´s Creed, Red Dead Redemption, Halo, Mass Effect, GTA, God of War, Zelda? I wouldn´t go so far as to call them "casual". :)
Then again, it´s a matter of definition. You´re right about the RTS and FPS games, although Call of Duty scored pretty high on consoles too.

Big titles ofcourse, but what i meant is that they're not really hardcore games that demand your life and soul. Kinda like glorified super marios, where you sit down, dabble around, nothing has really big influence on your actions and so on. Easy casual fun.

As said, wide spectrum of the word casual.

Low dedication games? :D

Console shooties are alright, but still, there's something wrong in counchpotatoshooties :p

I would say PC gaming is far from dead or even dying. Its going through a change now where Indie and F2P games are becoming larger, Mainly due to Steam and companies like EA releasing Battlefield Heroes and the like. Everybody I know is primary a PC gamer, playing games like CS, TF2, BF, SC2, WOW etc them and myself included all own consoles but its a secondary gaming platform, because you can get the same immersion as with a PC. The only immersive game that I have ever played on a console was Morrowind and that was a PC port.
Its hard not to get bogged down into Fanbois speak. But I am always astonished when certain sites say PC gaming is dead, or its back alive, because I don't see it from where I stand.

i also find it weird to play consoles by myself, it seems to work better with 2 people where everyone is in the room (for me)

whereas while its fun to sit in the same room as someone else on the PC, i dont really mind them not being anywhere near and playing online is "normal" whereas on consoles i still find it a bit strange...

Not to mention, PC gaming is a solo activity to the core, because anywhere where porn is just an alt-tab away, is not suited for company gaming :D

Like none of you haven't alt-tabbed for booty while flying a long route in WOW ;)

Alt-Tab for Booty. Hmm, i'm gonna TM that right now :p

To be fair on consoles you could in theory have your PC on next to it, with all the pr0n in the world whilst playing some Halo or Killzone etc lol
