This is a scene that a lot of films have produced in the past. This has been targeted a lot by people in academia for example and noted by many.
Video games have had this, eg Dukenukem back in the old days but since then women have often been the hero or are 'empowered' in games.
Women are still some would argue somewhat represented in a light that is either sexually suggestive in nature and often described as CG glamour models.
Are a lot of women seeing videogames as overwhelmingly violent and sexist and not willing to overlook these things?
Intresting to note that in Japan girl gamers are much more accepted socially.
Is the marketing style and media exposure not doing enough to attract women to games?
Edge magazine - in the 2000-20001 report the Interactive Digital Software Association stated that 43 percent of 145 million gamers in the USA were women (65 million female players).
Is the games industry not taking women serious enough in this case?
Are women as the more social gender, likely to take to online gaming in a stronger fashion than they would console gaming which is not always readily accesible in mulitplayer fashion?
