Since we seem to be on a women theme this week time for me to lean forward and share with you all my views :).

Now this is the short version of a otherwise long story:

I went out with a girl for a few weeks. Upon the first day we met we hit it off and after then went out every night for 2 weeks (yep I know it was crazy but both had a great time). Then 4th week something was up. Seems she liked me a lot, but had no "spark / connection", so both happily agreed to just be friends from then on, but I had a feeling so I asked her straight...

...and yep my best mate (one whom over christmas I helped out of depression after his girlfriend left him after 2 years by dragging him out on a mad 13 night blitz to get him back to normal, and since then been helping him to find a new gf) whom she saw a few times when a load of us met up, she has this "spark" with him. Anyhow being a nice guy I told her it was cool for her to ask him out e.t.c, after all we were just friends now, so I had a word with him and he freaked a bit, after all going out with my ex after only a few days is a tad to quick, so he said he will take it slow.

To cut the story short some more, on the weekend I knew something was going on, but he would not tell me so after ignoring him for a day we had a man to man chat and sorted things out. Basically I'll stay away from my ex (can't see her as I cause fricition + I still have feelings for her so I asked her nicely to stop texting me e.t.c and leave me alone for a while), and he and her can get on with what ever they want to do, and I can still be friends with him without feeling negative all the time.

I still feel like crap, but best solution for all?

Would of been ironic if a woman split up a good friendship, espeically in this case where we were both looking?

And a question for you girls out there: Why do women say they want to find a nice guy? fact is when they do they either use him, or ignore him and go out with the bastards instead? :)

Jesus SAS!

/me thinks you need to get out and meet a few more - just so you can realise that it's hardly uncommon ;)

BTW - were you drunk when you posted? :)

Your mate does sound like a right cunt though, asking you to stay away from someone who is effectivly a friend of yours.

A right cunt.

Seems you have to let them get on with it. I would asume that you 'mate' thinks or knows that the girl still has feelings for you.

Anyway if girls were born with brains they would be dangerous.

(Crap advice but hey, im no Romeo. Ask the missus :) )

I broke up with my gf last night. Nothing stressful like, just we'd kinda grown apart over the past couple of weeks, and if I hadn't finished with her, she would have finished with me. The sad thing is, 2 hours after we broke up we almost ended up in bed together :/

Never mind cos best of all I'M SINGLE AGAIN!!!!

:)

Aww SAS, you played sacrificial goat :( That's always a noble thing to do but you end up riddled with bitterness and resent.

The simplest rule of dating is that you walk away from someone your mate fancies, because 100% of the people you date, before you settle down, you will split up with. 100%!! But, ok, you gave your mate the green light, and he had just come out of a long term relationship, so maybe he had extenuating circumstances.

Best thing to do? Walk away from it for a while. Its just gonna grate, especially if you feel like the lemon. To tell the brutal truth SAS, she doesn't sound like a keeper if she tells you she fancies your mate so soon after you guys split up... I mean, unless stillettos in the bollocks is your kind of thing, she sounds a bit self absorbed. A bit of compassion is a nice thing in a person - I mean, would it have killed her to even let it wait a little longer?

And why do women say they are looking for a nice man and end up going for the bastards?

The bastards know the moves. They say all the right things without seeming over zealous/stalkey or infatuated (mostly because they dont give a shit about us, but we dont realise that until much later). In the beginning of a relationship the ACME BASTARD traits are exactly what makes a relationship seem interesting, because nothing is in context - the fact that he put his arm around you in public whenever a guy looks at you, wow protective (Pah! Possesive jealous cunt bag). The fact that he tells you what outfits to where, what make you look pretty, wow he finds me attractive (Pah! Controlling little Nazi!!). Its not a voluntairy thing. I dated an arsehole for two and a half years, and really, honestly, truly I wanted a nice guy. By the time you realise someones really an arsehole, you've already started deluding yourself that they're not.

And now Im dating a very nice man, thank you. And thats all I really wanted. Well, that and Legolas ; )

7 and a half actually. Which is good for me cos I've normally told them to fuck off after 3 cos they're so damn irritating. Having said that I actually told this one to "Cunt the fuck off and die of aids you mange infested shitebag" after about 2 weeks. She had just called me an "Anal Cunt" mind..........

I've just started seeing someone who's really nice, and genuinley seems to be after the "nice guys", so I don't hate women as much as I used to for the time being. It's taken me 4 years of being fucked around, and serious looking, to finally get someone who doesn't want the usual rude boy bastard cunt though. Pleasing.

Just a shame I'm off to Spain for a month without her though in April :(
