It makes me sick. A woman who has "Mild learning difficulties" has been told she's "Not bright enough" to be a good mother and has had her baby taken away. Well my sister has rather more than mild dyslexia and she's also really rather fucking stupid, didn't take my nephew from her though. Social Services need to stop playing God with people and look out for the children who really are at risk instead of those who's mothers they think are too stupid to look after them.

Wankers!

More daily mail bollocks, there aren't enough facts in that story to make a judegment either way. But well done for reacting the way the mail wanted you to, uninformed outrage.

Oh come on, I know the Mail have a heavy convervative bias and do love their fear mongering to dismiss everything they print simply because it's 'The Mail' is just childish.

i actually read the article and it doesnt read as an unbiased reporter, more some drunk guy ranting about something on his soap box down the pub. Which pretty much makes up all of the Mail stuff.

That article on Steven Geightly (sp) is a fantastic example of The Mail and what they say

I read the article, it was all "oh no the outrage!" and very little content. There was no mention for example as to what her medical condition was. It's a nothing story.

Don't tar conservatives with the Daily Mail brush, yes they may generally vote for them but their special brand of madness has nothing at all to do with the Tories.

There is a difference between conservative and Conservative, the first refers to an ideology the second to the political party. Take this story for example, the mail use it to advocate, albiet indirectly, smaller government (less interference in our lives).

She's 17?

Seriously though, I take all DM stories with the Dead Sea's quota of salt. An interesting story nonetheless.

17, with a 25 yeard old(do the math on conception), with the 25 year old being a broke ass artist and them not having even the money to rent.

Well...screw the problems she has, they ain't fit anyway.

Whether the DM is bias or not, surely the father would be "fit" to raise the child?

Granted he's an out of work artist and all, but so is half the country.

Mey, the article contains nothing in the way of balanced facts at all. It's pointless speculating, because we have no idea what has gone on at all.

ooh i'd not thought of using that as an excuse; i usually just say i'm too selfish/immature, don't want them, wouldn't be a good parent now I can say nope sorry I'm waaay too stupid to have a child... I insist you steralise me for the good of all humanity, then proceed to try and get some stuck toast out of the toaster by jiggling a metal fork in it and running my hand through a bowl of water at the same time.

Funny that, wasn't the Mail one of the first newspapers to jump on the Baby P bandwagon and create the climate where social services are taking children away because they're scared not to?

I hate the media.
