Most areas currently have trigger rates of about 300+ :p

Heard about this a little while a go but with BT I have my doubts it'll happen any thing soon, esp with the current telecom problems in the US.

No, 16 you can fake. There's a difference ;)

BTW: On a regular small exchange there'll be about 3-4 thousand people/lines.

So 10% wanting broadband is a pretty low threshold tbh.

But for rural exchanges there's pretty much no hope.

Well, I would deffo class ours as rural. Scotter is a village of about 3000 residents. Having said that it serves Messingham too, which has about 10000.

I may post some petitions on the lamp posts to get people to register "for the good of the community" or some such shite.

Then again, I might not. :(

You're seeing dead people coming out of the walls, and feel an irresistable urge to kill.

Should do it.

:D

Hmmm, so she's at home, alone atm, in an old farmhouse, in the middle of no-where, and you want me to tell her horror stories?
Way to get me banned from the marital bed there Sar.

14? You must live right in the sticks.

People always complain about the high trigger but forget that enabling an exchange is not as simple as just installing the equipment.

You need to hook the exchange up to enough bandwidth to service the 500-1000 users (who are all using 1/2 to 2mb)... not an easy task in the middle of nowhere.
