Could you please suggest any improvements to this template? It doesn't use JS so I am missing 5% Resist Pierce, but that's pretty much it.

If I use JS I can't keep CS without wasting util, and I'd rather not have a dropped cloak (like the Cloak of Runic Rapidity) if possible.

This template also uses TG rather than the Champion Staff, just because I like the look of TG really ;)

looks nice, however a caster temp without jacina aint no good imo :)

I know mate, 5% Pierce and Arcane Siphon...

It's just if I use JS then I can't keep CS really and I love the way CS looks, so don't want to swap it for a smelly drop cloak :(

it just wont work without JS, sry its 5% dmg, and dmg is just about the only thing a wizard can do

JS and CS work fine together. Its got nothing to do with utility... CS should earn its place with the AF, power, power cap , and acuity cap.

Below average template tho, you really want to cap passive pierce and have ctr and boz in there.

That looks much better than the one above, when you take into account the AF bonus and the ctr passive resist your melee resistance is most likely better than the first temp.

And CTR on a Wizard does what exactly? I can understand it for a Theurgist because then others can use his speed etc. but for a Wizard it's pointless surely? Or does CTR do something I am not aware of?

Also, the CTR resists are not passive, they are normal item resists (looking at VoS anyway).

I don't want to use the Champ Staff, and you're losing 1% damage by doing so (assuming a Tarts Staff template with both EC/AT and JS OFC).

Yep there is damage loss. However, the MCL charge has a better RUT and I'm tired of seeing Tarts on all my casters. :)

As for CTR, it is in the template for damage conversion. Damage taken -> end/power. Think of that as a little bit of extra resists + a good way to get end to kite or power back.

I thought it sounded daft but then I got it on my cleric. CTR is really one of the best passive items ingame.

CTR has a 5% passive resist to all damage types. It converts the damage to end and power. Effectively its not 5% but it does comes out at about 4% for most people (the conversion is calculated after normal resists are applied). So 4%ish resist to all damage types + the embued stats + bonus to end and pow.


So effectively you end up with these resists on CTR

heat 8%
cold 8%
energy 8%
matter 8%
body 8%
spirit/slash/crush/thrust 4%

Kind of good no?
