Withering Death Quest

Guys, who here has done it.

My group searched for 3 hours plus for the 3 names giant mushrooms, the only one we could find was the one your supposed to kill at the very end.

Where are they? I know there supposed to be in Coshom or whatever its called, and the NW of the outlanders, but we really did search everywhere.

Need that ring for my sc kit

where does this quest start? ive had trouble finding much info about it...

the other named hang around with mario afaik, but perhaps only when hes built up.

mario sits in the NW behind the watefall near gnessis/the lake until strong enough to attack outland, ive only ever seen the other named shrooms when he attacks outland, so you might have to wait for that point.

It should be near altan garran, thats near to where is spawns. But it can get pulled all over the place.

I did the quest and killed it but didnt get the step.

couldnt be assed with it again after that.

Same with maliforwort. Killed it (took 2 FG and it dropped junk)

thanks guys, I guess you gotta wait till its uber and the others spawn.

I really wanna do it, the rings not great but fits in well with my sc kit.

You get the quest in necht from dough or someone.

Its stupid tbh, wish I had never put the ring down to use

Anyway if anyone wants to do it let me know

Quest starts with Dolph the armour merchant in the tent just inside Necht.

i have had this quest a long time and it's the only one in my journal, and i've done prolly every other quest that hero's can do, really wanna do this

Per 1.64 Patch Notes:
- Level 49 players can now do the Writhing Death quest as well as level 50's, and we have added some additional rewards. If you've already completed this quest, just return and speak with Treal in Cothram Gorge to choose one of the new rewards. You don't need to bring your original reward.


1) Find Dolph, Brea Leather merchant in Necht, he will tell you about reports from the Outland residents being attacked by a writhing swarming mass.

2) Once you accept the quest you are told to go speak to either Fedail or Hedierna. You will find them in the Outlander Town (Altan Garran) in Cothrom Gorge (aprox. loc 55, 55)

3)Fedail (found on the main floor of the northern most tree "house") tells you a bit more about the writhing swarming mass.

4)Fedail tells you that the swarming mass is made up of 3 beasts, Cronwort, Fuilwort and Tachtword. You will find them northwest of town.

5)The journal tells you to kill one of the three, but if you kill all three of then then "all the better." Kill Cronwort, Fuilwort and Tachtword and return their remains to Fedail.

6) Fedail then tells you that you must kill the source of the 'worts' the writhing death mass known as Marfoirwort.

7) Once Marfoirwort is killed bring back the root to Treal.
