Why could'nt you stand wireplay, I know the servers were fuxord at times but when they wasnt they were great, and full with sound peeps.

Well thats interesting. Is it the same 'coming soon' that NGUK are doing cos the WP community team are at BY now.

Don't get too excited everyone though. All the UK GSPs (afaik) have confirmed p2p is arriving soon so the free lunch is almost over.

NGUK.net now got an "access denied to / on www.nguk.net" message on it so thats probably the end of that. As for Wireplay, too little, too late, everybodys settled in elsewhere now as far as i've seen.

p2p may get a small community, unfortunately longterm its not the way to go...but ppl will be deluded enuff to try it in the interim because they can't see further than the next year or two. Will I go for it? Erm nope...will lots of others go for it? Erm nope....some will do tho for sure.

While theres free servers out there (and lets face it there are HEAPS of them empty with nothing to do with p2p type GSPs) I'm happy.

The only time p2p will truly take off is when there is a monopoly or the actual game is tied in with the GSPs so its the only option.

well one of the things that will help p2p succeed, at least in the short term, is the organised gaming stuff. leagues, cups, bookables, etc. how many people will be able to support this stuff for free and still meet the demand?

Hmm do Savage and Jolt have plans to go p2p? Just a q I have no idea, just I hadn't heard anything. If they aren't I guess that answers the question mebbe.
