Wireless help

I have two PCs networked wirelessly by two Intel Anypoints II's. My main PC shares the internet connection.

Now I want to connect my Xbox to the main PC and a physical ethernet cable is out of the question. So I bought a Netgear ME101 bridge as this was recommended as a suitable product to connect to the xbox.

My problem is I cant get the two to see each other. Ive set it up Ad Hoc, made sure that the same SSID is used and that the IP adresses are compatible.

Does anyone have any idea how to solve this problem?

sell the X-Box and get a decent console?

Yes I realise that this is a useless reply in regard to the actual question, but it would solve the problem..

Are either of the devices set up to use WEP encrytion? .. if so are they both using the same key length, & if so are they all using the same key?

Also, you might want to look and see on the bridge whether it has any sort of access control list ... whereby you have to specify the MAC network addresses of cards allowed to connect through the device, any unknown wireless devices being cut off.

I had a similar problem with an old SMC Barricade wireless router and a new Linksys WET11 bridge for my PS2, they would never see each other.

In the end I found that the SMC wasn't compatible and was crashing, so I got one of those new fangled 54mb Linksys routers

OK thanks for the replys. The problem is my new bridge only operates on infrastrucure mode only whereas my net work is peer to peer.

Is there anyway of making me main computer appear to the bridge as a router rather than have to buy a wireless router?

The reason for infrastructure mode is that the bridge allows to have a hub or switch on the ethernet port and let multiple devices share the wireless link. For this you're gonna have to get an access point, either stand alone or built into a wireless router.
