Jas- thats using the new 802.11a standard. Be aware that it wont offer you anywhere near the range that 802.11b/802.11g equipment will offer you (if that will effect you, of course..). Also be aware that the 802.11a standard words at 52mbps. The 72mbps mentioned is a proprietry standard, so it will default back to 52mbps for any cards not specifically designed by linksys (eg lucent, cisco, netgear.. etc).

If you can wait another 4-6 months, you should wait for 802.11g cards to become available. They offer 52mbit bandwidth, have increased range and are backwards compatible with 802.11b cards.

True. The EU is ratifying the frequency space later this year though, and use in the mean time wont be frowned on. Its the fault of the EU/US/etc legislature to not create a worldwide standard frequency range for tech such as 802.11a.

The EU was, until recently, looking at a standard all of its own :)
