Well... Pro. Home is the the same product with a bunch of useful features missing, which is why it's cheaper.

By some obscure borderline loophole in the legal system I'd suspect :rolleyes:.

Natch, I need to get a better PC first, probably with an OS included.

Yeah but...

WinME -> WinXP -> Win2k AS IS...

Skip on wheels -> Top-of-the-range Ferrari -> Top-of-the-range Ferrari with a polished dashboard

Basically at this standard I couldn't give a flying fuck :)

I ain't warezing though.

ive got a disk here which says Win2K on it.
Think it might be worth upgrading from WinME (where I have HAD 0 problems ?)

I know someone who did and had shit loads of problems with the start up.

On top of that, I might lose my Virus scanner which came bundled on WinME

I'm moving back to win2000 myself in the next couple of days, but I just turned cleartype off and standard smoothing/none is absolutely hideous
gonna take time to get used to it ;(

WIN 98SE user here. love the little OS. no networking crap or helpful popups. Never really had problems with 95, 98, 98SE or ME tbh

2k was a nice step up from 98, the increase in stability makes it well worthwhile.

I can't really comment on XP, I've never run it myself, most people seem to like it, but former 2k users don't really seem to see the big deal as much.
